What is meant by “maternal thinking?” This volume focuses on a broad definition of motherhood and maternal relations as practice and models of and for understanding human relations based on care and gift giving. We draw inspiration from Indigenous stories that honor the ways care giving practices are taught to humans by other than humans, including the earth, elemental forces of nature, and various animals and other living creatures. The volume features articles that re-vision myths and offer new interpretations across many lands and cultures.
